Texas has banned the sale of THC products to anyone under 21, effective October 1, following an emergency rule by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) requiring ID verification at licensed alcohol establishments.
The rule, prompted by Governor Greg Abbott’s executive order, applies only to about 60,000 businesses with liquor licenses, such as bars and liquor stores, leaving other retailers like gas stations and online sellers outside its scope.
