Stevens County deputies shot 56-year-old Anthony Sparacino during a standoff at a Colville home on September 23, 2025, after responding to a domestic violence call.
Sparacino, suspected of severely assaulting another man, refused to leave the residence, which contained multiple firearms, and had a history of suicidal thoughts.
Law enforcement from multiple agencies attempted peaceful resolution using CS gas and pepper balls between midnight and 2:30 a.m. Around 2:30 a.m., after Sparacino pointed a weapon at officers, three deputies fired, striking him multiple times.
He was taken into custody and treated at Sacred Heart Medical Center, where he was reported in stable condition.
The officers involved have been placed on routine administrative leave as the Washington State Patrol investigates the incident.
