Founded by Indian activist Bhuwan Ribhu, the group has prevented nearly 400,000 child marriages and rescued over 75,000 children in India and Nepal.
The campaign emphasizes that child marriage is a crime with severe consequences, including abuse, early pregnancy, and lost education, and demands prosecution of all who enable it—families, leaders, and vendors.
With millions of girls married before 18, especially in South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa, advocates stress that laws must be actively enforced, not just written, to end impunity and protect children’s rights.
