In July 2025, India’s Employees' State Insurance Corporation added 20.36 lakh new workers to its social security scheme, a 4.86% increase from June, according to provisional data from the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Over 48% of new enrollees were under 25, and women made up 4.33 lakh of the additions, with 88 transgender individuals also registered.
The expansion included 31,146 new establishments, broadening access to medical care, cash benefits, and maternity support for workers in covered sectors.
The data is preliminary and part of an ongoing reporting process.
