Jillian Shriner, wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, has been granted a two-year mental health diversion program after firing a handgun at LAPD officers during a high-speed chase unrelated to her in April. Officers responding to a hit-and-run incident found her in her Eagle Rock backyard with a gun, ignoring commands to drop it. She was struck in the arm during a exchange of gunfire but sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities confirmed she was not involved in the original incident. The judge approved diversion, requiring her to abstain from drugs and alcohol, attend weekly therapy, participate in at least three Alcoholics Anonymous meetings weekly, undergo random testing, and avoid firearms or knives. If she complies, charges including assault and negligent discharge of a firearm will be dismissed. A 9mm handgun was recovered from her home. A progress hearing is set for January 9, 2026.
