Gavin Thompson, accused of killing a Wisconsin woman and fleeing to Nebraska, will be extradited despite mental competency concerns.
Gavin Thompson, 23, accused of killing 67-year-old Dorinda Segebrecht in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, will be extradited to Wisconsin after a Nebraska judge denied his defense’s request to transfer him for a competency evaluation.
Thompson allegedly stabbed Segebrecht, stole her car, and fled to Nebraska, where he was arrested after a crash and foot chase.
Despite concerns about his mental state, the judge ruled he is competent enough for extradition.
He faces multiple charges in Wisconsin, including first-degree intentional homicide and concealing a corpse, and will appear in Iowa County Court for a bond hearing.
