Florida's AG says schools must allow Turning Point USA chapters after founder’s assassination, calling bans discriminatory.
Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier warned public schools in the state that legal action may follow if they block student efforts to form Turning Point USA chapters after the assassination of founder Charlie Kirk.
Uthmeier, citing his Office of Parental Rights, said schools must allow student organizations, calling restrictions discriminatory.
The group has seen a surge in requests to start chapters, with over 120,000 since Kirk’s memorial.
While the organization claims it’s nearing chapters on every high school and college campus, Uthmeier did not name specific schools.
In Duval County, a school board member said policies are being revised to allow non-teacher sponsors for student clubs.
