The 2025 Beijing Science Literacy Week ended, highlighting AI’s role in global science communication and accessibility.
The 2025 Beijing International Week for Science Literacy ended on September 20 at the Beijing Science Center, focusing on "Science Communication in the Age of AI."
Organized by the Beijing Association for Science and Technology with support from UNESCO and other international partners, the five-day event gathered nearly two dozen representatives from 14 countries, including Thailand, South Africa, and Norway, along with over 200 participants from Chinese cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Anhui.
Senior officials and global science leaders discussed AI’s potential to improve public engagement, education, and international collaboration.
Activities included presentations on immersive science learning, an interactive exhibition, youth workshops with international partners, and the addition of new members to the Beijing Global Network of Science Festivals.
The event emphasized using AI to make science more accessible and inclusive worldwide.
