Australia recalls two Aspect Sun sunscreens for underperforming SPF, raising skin cancer risks.
Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration is recalling two Aspect Sun sunscreen products due to lower-than-advertised SPF levels, potentially increasing users’ risk of sunburn and skin cancer.
The affected batches—Physical Sun Protection SPF50+ and Tinted Physical SPF50+—were found in preliminary tests to not deliver the claimed protection.
Consumers are urged to stop using the products and return them for a refund.
The recall follows a broader investigation by consumer group CHOICE that previously led to the removal of six other sunscreens.
Additional products may be added to the recall list as testing continues.
