Sprout Organics expands recall of baby food pouches over lead contamination, now affecting 27 states.
Sprout Organics is expanding its recall of four lots of 3.5 oz Sweet Potato, Apple and Spinach baby food pouches due to potential lead contamination, following routine testing that found elevated lead levels.
The recall now includes additional lot numbers and covers products sold at Walgreens, independent retailers, and online across at least 27 states, including Mississippi.
No illnesses have been reported, but lead exposure can harm children’s development even at low levels.
Consumers should check the lot number and expiration date on the pouch bottom and return affected products for a full refund.
This marks the third baby food pouch recall linked to lead in recent months.
