Palestinian leader Abbas condemned Israel at UN, citing war crimes and killings, as West Bank and Gaza tolls rise.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, speaking remotely at the UN General Assembly after being denied a U.S. visa, strongly condemned Israel for war crimes, illegal settlements, and widespread violations of international law, citing home burnings, village attacks, and civilian killings in the West Bank. He called for accountability, urged global action to end Israeli military operations, and reaffirmed support for a two-state solution. In a separate incident, two Palestinians, aged 29 and 20, were killed during an Israeli military raid in Tammun. The Palestinian Health Ministry reported the bodies were withheld. Since October 2023, over 65,400 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, and more than 1,000 have died in the West Bank amid intensified Israeli operations and settler violence. The International Court of Justice previously ruled Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory illegal and called for settlement dismantling.
