The alert, managed by the National Flood Early Warning Centre, covers areas including Yola, Yenagoa, Warri, and Kano, and follows a growing crisis with at least 232 deaths and over 121,000 displaced by September 20. Authorities urge communities and local governments to clear drains, provide shelter, and share safety information. In Kogi State, five communities are submerged due to overflowing Niger and Benue rivers, prompting emergency operations and the opening of 42 IDP camps. Health teams are fumigating camps and preparing for disease prevention. Northern states like Kaduna and Bauchi are also stepping up flood response efforts.
