Authorities from multiple agencies pursued the suspect, who reportedly called 911 claiming he was armed. The pursuit entered Dickson, where stop sticks were deployed, prompting a temporary school lockdown. A tactical vehicle intervention near Ardmore failed, and the suspect fatally shot himself. The highway remained closed for about four hours. In a separate incident, dashcam footage showed a crash during a pursuit in Ardmore following a shoplifting report, injuring an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper who survived after his vehicle flipped and caught fire. Both incidents are under investigation.
