Kansas and FDA warn: synthetic 7-OH in gummies and powders can cause overdose, addiction, and death.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment and the FDA warn against 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH), a potent, unregulated substance found in gummies, powders, and other products sold in stores and online.
Unlike natural kratom, synthetic 7-OH is more addictive and can cause severe respiratory depression, especially when mixed with alcohol or sedatives, leading to overdose and death.
Health officials report risks including addiction, seizures, anxiety, and withdrawal.
Naloxone may help reverse overdoses but could be less effective if other substances are involved.
Avoid all 7-OH products, read labels carefully, keep them away from children and pets, and have naloxone available.
Seek medical help or call the Poison Help Line at 1-800-222-1222 if exposed.
Free naloxone kits are available through Kansas’s DCCCA online form.
Kansas y FDA advierten: el 7-OH sintético en gomitas y polvos puede causar sobredosis, adicción y muerte.
