Emily Lowan, 25, elected BC Green Party leader, vows to challenge fossil fuels and push progressive policies.
Emily Lowan, a 25-year-old climate activist from Victoria, has been elected leader of the British Columbia Green Party, winning 3,189 votes on the first ballot.
She defeated Jonathan Kerr with 1,908 votes and Adam Bremner-Akins with 128.
The leadership race, which ran from September 13 to 23, saw over 5,200 of about 8,600 eligible members vote, reflecting strong youth engagement.
