Pre-K teacher Tyroneshia Jordan of Chattanooga was surprised with the Tennessee Early Educator Award during a classroom assembly, one of ten statewide honorees recognized by Tennesseans for Quality Early Education.
The award, in its second year, honors early educators who support children from birth through third grade, celebrating their dedication to foundational skills in literacy, math, and social-emotional development.
Jordan and the other recipients received a $1,000 cash prize, a trip to Nashville, and a shopping spree, with support from sponsors including Lakeshore Learning and the Niswonger Foundation.
The initiative aims to elevate the early education profession, increase public appreciation for teachers, and highlight their critical role in shaping lifelong learners.
