Avatar: Fire and Ash, the highly anticipated sequel to Avatar: The Way of Water, is set to premiere on December 19, 2025, directed by James Cameron and featuring Sam Worthington as Jake Sully and Zoe Saldana as Neytiri.
The film continues their story as they face new threats from the Ash People, a Na’vi tribe led by Varang, portrayed by Oona Chaplin, in volcanic regions of Pandora.
The return of Colonel Miles Quaritch, played by Stephen Lang, and the introduction of new characters, including Kiri (Sigourney Weaver) and Ronal (Kate Winslet), deepen the saga’s emotional and spiritual stakes.
The film, co-written by Cameron and a team of writers, expands the franchise’s world with intense action, visual spectacle, and themes of war, survival, and environmental balance.
It will be released in 3D and major premium formats worldwide, with Avatar 4 and 5 scheduled for 2029 and 2031, respectively.
