Wrexham AFC began redeveloping its historic Kop Stand in September 2025, aiming to expand capacity and meet UEFA standards by 2026/27.
Wrexham AFC has appointed McLaren Construction to lead the redevelopment of the historic Kop Stand at its Racecourse Ground stadium, with early works beginning in September 2025.
The project, part of the Wrexham Gateway Partnership, aims to restore the stadium’s four-sided layout, increase capacity to over 18,000, and meet UEFA Category 4 standards.
Designed by Populous, the new stand will include seating, hospitality, and public spaces, with completion expected by the 2026/27 season.
The redevelopment supports local job creation and urban regeneration, marking a key milestone in the club’s transformation since its 2021 acquisition by American actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
