Two Hungarian nationals charged in Ontario theft spree involving nearly $5,000 in stolen goods.
A 27-year-old Toronto man and a 31-year-old woman, both Hungarian nationals, have been charged in connection with multiple thefts across Hanover and surrounding areas in Ontario.
According to police, the man stole from a pharmacy in Hanover on Tuesday evening and was picked up by the woman in a vehicle, which was later found with nearly $5,000 in stolen goods, including baby formula, headphones, perfumes, tools, and a chainsaw.
The pair were arrested in Durham, with the man facing four counts of theft under $5,000 and two counts of possession of stolen property, while the woman is charged with two counts of possession of stolen property and one count of being an accessory after the fact.
Their vehicle was seized and will remain impounded at the owner’s expense until the court proceedings conclude.
Both were released and are scheduled to appear in Walkerton court.
