TotalEnergies wins France’s biggest offshore wind project, a 1.5-GW farm set for 2033, with €4.5B investment and major clean energy goals.
TotalEnergies has been chosen to develop and operate France’s largest offshore wind project, the 1.5-gigawatt Centre Manche 2 wind farm off Normandy, following a government tender.
The €4.5 billion project, expected to generate enough electricity for over 1 million households, will begin operations in 2033 after a final investment decision by early 2029.
Though RWE plans to exit the consortium, TotalEnergies will assume full responsibility and seek a new partner.
The wind farm will supply power at €66/MWh, create up to 2,500 construction jobs, and include significant environmental and community commitments, including a €10 million territorial fund and ambitious recycling goals.
The project marks a major step in France’s renewable energy transition and TotalEnergies’ largest investment in the country in 30 years.
