Philippine rep’s 11 aircraft worth $82.6M prompt graft probe amid corruption allegations.

The Philippine Department of Public Works and Highways has reported that Rep. Zaldy Co, chair of the appropriations committee, owns 11 aircraft valued at around P4.7 billion ($82.6 million), based on Civil Aviation Authority records. The assets, held by Co’s companies including Misibis Aviation and Hi-Tone Construction, include a Gulfstream 350 jet and multiple helicopters. Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon confirmed the findings and forwarded the list to the Anti-Money Laundering Council, Department of Justice, and Independent Commission on Infrastructure. Co, who is reportedly in the U.S. for medical treatment, denies allegations of corruption tied to government projects, including kickbacks and budget insertions. A graft complaint has been filed by several senators and a former engineer, with the DOJ preparing charges related to bribery and malversation. The case has drawn public attention to accountability in government spending.
