A new English translation of the Hanuman Chalisa, launched Sept. 24, 2025, aims to share its spiritual message with global audiences.
A new lyrical English translation of the 16th-century devotional hymn Hanuman Chalisa, by poet-diplomat Abhay K., was launched on September 24, 2025, at IILM University in New Delhi.
Published by Bloomsbury India, the bilingual edition aims to make the spiritual and philosophical essence of the original accessible to non-Hindi speakers, especially the Indian diaspora.
Abhay K., inspired by his family’s lifelong connection to the text, created a singable version preserving its devotional depth and poetic quality.
The event, attended by diplomats, academics, and leaders, highlighted Hanuman’s values of humility, loyalty, and service, with Prof. Rajendra Srivastava noting his leadership style as “leading from the back.” A symbolic gesture included Ram Divedi reading from his father’s French translation and presenting it to Abhay K. The project seeks to bridge cultures and generations through the enduring resonance of the Chalisa.
