Limerick man Justin Savage sues Maine State Police over alleged brutal beating during his 2024 arrest, claiming excessive force and false accusations.
Justin Savage, a Limerick man, has filed a federal lawsuit against the Maine State Police and three officers, alleging he was brutally beaten while handcuffed during his March 2024 arrest, suffering a broken nose and severe injuries after being punched and restrained.
He and his girlfriend, Shawna Morse, claim they were wrongfully arrested following a domestic dispute and that police used excessive force and misrepresented the incident, including falsely accusing Savage of injuring officers.
The lawsuit seeks over $100 million in damages, challenging the state police’s claim that the force was justified and disputing their internal review.
The Office of the Attorney General has not yet been served, and the case is ongoing.
