RTE Radio 1’s Morning Ireland is ending an era as presenters Áine Lawlor and Mary Wilson sign off for the final time on September 24, 2025.
Wilson, who joined RTE in 1990, is retiring after 36 years, having served in multiple roles including reporter, correspondent, editor, and presenter, earning accolades such as Millennium Journalist of the Year and induction into the IMRO Radio Awards Hall of Fame.
She returned to Morning Ireland in 2020 after leading Drivetime for 14 years.
Lawlor, who began at RTE in 1984, has been a central figure on Morning Ireland since 1995.
