The Indian government has approved a 78.942-kilometer, four-lane greenfield highway on NH-139W from Sahebganj to Bettiah in Bihar, costing Rs 3,822.31 crore, to be built under the Hybrid Annuity Mode. The project aims to improve connectivity between Patna and the India-Nepal border, linking key districts like Vaishali, Saran, Siwan, and Muzaffarpur, while enhancing travel efficiency, freight movement, and access to economic, social, and tourism sites. It will connect multiple PM Gati Shakti nodes, reduce travel time significantly, and generate over 31 lakh employment opportunities.
