Danish business confidence edged up in September, driven by services and retail, but industrial confidence dropped due to U.S. tariffs.
Denmark's business confidence rose slightly to 103.5 in September, remaining above the long-term average, according to Statistics Denmark.
Gains in services and retail drove the increase, with confidence rising to 107.9 and 105.9 respectively, while construction edged up to 99.9.
However, industrial confidence fell sharply to 92.0 from 99.0, reflecting weaker production and employment expectations.
This decline was partly linked to new U.S. import tariffs, with 71.4% of Danish industrial firms reporting some impact.
The data shows continued resilience in non-industrial sectors despite challenges in manufacturing.
