A Bengaluru AI billboard shows real-time traffic violations by scanning license plates and checking national records.
A new AI-powered digital billboard at Bengaluru’s Trinity Circle displays real-time traffic violations of passing vehicles, using cameras to scan license plates up to 100 meters away and check records against the national VAHAN database within seconds.
The system, developed by local traffic police, Cars24, CrashFree India, and Monday Ventures, shows issues like unpaid fines or expired PUC certificates to promote compliance and safer driving.
Aimed at deterring violations, the initiative comes amid a surge in traffic offences, with over 37.8 lakh cases recorded in just two weeks, generating ₹106 crore in fines, partly due to a temporary 50% waiver on e-challans.
The project reflects a tech-driven effort to boost civic responsibility in a rapidly growing city.
