UCF offensive line coach Shawn Clark, 50, died Sept. 21 after a hospital stay since Sept. 9.
Shawn Clark, 50, UCF offensive line coach and former head coach at Appalachian State, died on September 21, 2025, at an Orlando hospital where he had been hospitalized since September 9 following a medical emergency.
He joined UCF’s staff in December 2024 after leading Appalachian State to a 40-24 record and three bowl victories in five seasons.
A two-time All-American offensive lineman at Appalachian State, Clark had a coaching career spanning over two decades, including roles at Louisville, Eastern Kentucky, Purdue, and Kent State.
UCF head coach Scott Frost and athletic director Terry Mohajir praised his character, passion, and dedication as a coach, husband, and father.
His passing prompted widespread tributes, with condolences extended to his wife, Jonelle, and children, Giana and Braxton.
The cause of death was not disclosed.
