Singapore launches Berlayar housing estate with 7,000 public flats and 3,000 private units, featuring green spaces and sustainable design.
A new housing estate named Berlayar, on the former Keppel Club site in Singapore’s Bukit Merah, will include about 7,000 public flats and 3,000 private units, with the first Build-to-Order project launching in October.
Featuring 870 two-room flexi, three-room, and four-room flats plus 200 rental units, the development spans around 10 hectares of green space with four wide ecological corridors connecting the Southern Ridges and Labrador Nature Reserve.
Designed with sustainability in mind, it incorporates native plants, stormwater management features, and a terraced skyline inspired by local wildlife.
Located near MRT stations and future amenities, the estate supports a car-lite lifestyle and reflects Singapore’s broader public housing expansion, including shorter waiting time flats and new developments across the city.
