Nigerian goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has been named the world’s fourth-best female goalkeeper for the 2024/25 season at the Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris, marking a historic achievement as the first African player nominated for the Yachine Award.
Her ranking follows a standout performance at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where she helped Nigeria win its 10th title and recorded four clean sheets, earning tournament best goalkeeper honors.
Nnadozie, 24, finishes behind England’s Hannah Hampton, Germany’s Ann-Katrin Berger, and Spain’s Cata Coll, and ahead of the Netherlands’ Daphne van Domselaar.
The honor underscores her consistent excellence, including two prior CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year awards, and highlights growing global recognition of African talent in women’s football.
La portera nigeriana Chiamaka Nnadozie fue nombrada la cuarta mejor portera femenina del mundo, primera nominada africana al Premio Yachine.
