A Louisiana man was arrested the same day he allegedly set multiple fires in woods and along a highway.
A 67-year-old Oberlin, Louisiana, man, Bradley Montou, has been charged with ten counts of simple arson after allegedly setting multiple fires in wooded areas and along Louisiana Highway 26 on September 15, 2025.
Fire crews, aircraft, and investigators responded swiftly, containing the fires to minimal sizes and leading to Montou’s arrest the same day.
He is held in the Allen Parish Jail on a $75,000 bond.
Authorities say witnesses saw him walking near the scene and entering wooded areas to start fires.
The Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry credited the coordinated response for the quick apprehension.
The public is urged to report forestry crimes via a 24-hour hotline.
