Karnataka's CM asks Wipro to allow limited access to ease traffic on Outer Ring Road.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has asked Wipro founder Azim Premji to permit limited vehicle access through the company’s Bengaluru campus to ease traffic congestion on the Outer Ring Road, especially near Iblur junction.
In a letter dated September 19, he cited expert assessments suggesting the move could reduce peak-hour congestion by up to 30%.
The CM emphasized the need for collaboration to improve urban mobility and commuter experience.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar stated that about 1,000 potholes are repaired daily despite heavy rains, downplaying infrastructure concerns.
The request comes amid growing criticism over Bengaluru’s deteriorating roads and rising political pressure, including a planned opposition road blockade on September 24.
