Jyasiel Hampton, 33, was convicted of trafficking over 500 grams of methamphetamine and faces life in prison.
Jyasiel Devante Hampton, 33, of Courtland, Alabama, was convicted by a Morgan County jury of trafficking over 500 grams of methamphetamine after arranging to sell 1.5 pounds for $5,000 in cash.
Arrested on March 10, 2022, Hampton, also known as “Game,” was caught with the drugs hidden in an XXL jacket near Hoover Avenue Southwest, following surveillance by the North Alabama Drug Task Force and local police.
Prosecutors say he claimed the drugs came from Leighton but did not confirm ownership.
Due to his extensive felony record, Hampton faces a mandatory life sentence or life without parole and a $100,000 fine.
Sentencing is set for November 6, 2025.
