Justice Arun Monga emphasized that police officers must uphold, not undermine, justice, and condemned the officer’s actions toward legal representatives and a senior advocate who intervened. Though initially considering an FIR, the court accepted an apology but required it to be submitted in writing via affidavit by the next day, stressing the seriousness of the misconduct. The incident occurred during proceedings in the case Rameshwar v. State Govt. of NCT of Delhi, involving multiple advocates and the state’s special prosecutor. The court reaffirmed that no one, including law enforcement, is above the law.
