Delhi High Court notices suspension of college principal over sexual harassment allegations, citing legal flaws.
The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to authorities over a plea by Professor Rasal Singh, suspended principal of Ramanujan College, Delhi University, challenging his interim suspension amid sexual harassment allegations.
The suspension followed a complaint by three teachers, which Singh’s legal team disputes, citing procedural flaws, lack of a valid Internal Complaints Committee, and violation of natural justice.
They argue the suspension under the PoSH Act is unlawful as the law doesn’t permit interim suspensions and the complaint may be time-barred.
The court directed the college to produce records and scheduled a hearing for September 26, with no stay granted.
The case remains pending.
