U.S. agency funds study for Zambia’s Kazozo copper-cobalt project to boost critical minerals supply.
Terra Metals Inc. and Metalex Commodities, through their joint venture Lunda Resources, have secured a U.S. Trade and Development Agency grant to conduct a feasibility study for the Kazozo copper–cobalt project in Northwestern Zambia.
The signing ceremony, held at the Russell Senate Office Building, was led by Senator Ted Cruz, with USTDA Director Thomas Hardy and Zambian Embassy officials in attendance.
The project supports U.S. critical minerals goals and the “Trade, not Aid” policy, aiming to strengthen supply chains for clean energy technologies, boost economic growth, and create jobs in both Zambia and the U.S.
It emphasizes sustainable practices and collaboration with local leadership.
The companies also announced a strategic alliance with Tonawanda Group Inc. to advance exploration in Zambia’s copper-gold belt.
