Two River City actors, Joyce Falconer and David McGowan, are starring in *The F Ward*, a film about the Covid-19 pandemic’s impact on care homes, created by people living with dementia.
Led by Ron Coleman, a vascular dementia patient and founder of Deepness Media, the project involves the Demented Poets collective and is directed by Bafta-winner Ian Bustard.
The film, co-written with Simon McCallum, aims to preserve memories of the pandemic’s toll and prevent future failures.
A double-bill premiere at the Dementia Arts Festival in Stirling (Sept 25–27) will feature Coleman’s play and Bustard’s documentary, followed by a nationwide tour under the Demented Cinema banner.
The initiative highlights the creativity and contributions of people with dementia, emphasizing that they remain capable and vocal despite their condition.
