Romanian firm Safetech joins EU cybersecurity consortium under €177.6M contract.
Safetech Innovations, a Romanian cybersecurity firm listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, has joined an international consortium as a subcontractor under the European Commission’s €177.6 million FREIA framework contract, managed by DG DIGIT.
The contract supports cybersecurity and digital resilience across EU institutions and member states, with Safetech contributing specialized services based on task orders over a 48-month period.
The consortium, led by Ernst & Young Consulting, includes Orange Business Belgium, Cosmote Global Solutions, and Deutsche Telekom Global Business Solutions.
Safetech’s participation reflects its expanding role in major European digital infrastructure projects and aligns with its international growth strategy across London, Abu Dhabi, and Riyadh.
The move comes amid heightened cybersecurity threats and regulatory demands like NIS2.
