Quinton de Kock returns to South Africa’s ODI squad for series against Pakistan, ahead of 2027 World Cup.

Quinton de Kock has reversed his retirement from ODI cricket and returned to the format, named in South Africa’s squad for the upcoming series against Pakistan. The 32-year-old opener, who stepped away after the 2023 World Cup and had played only T20 internationals since retiring from Tests in 2021, will now play in both the ODI and T20 formats. His return comes ahead of South Africa hosting the 2027 Cricket World Cup. Test captain Temba Bavuma is out due to a calf injury, with Aiden Markram leading the team in the two Test matches starting October 12. The tour includes three ODIs, two Tests, and three T20s.
