Physiotherapist Gavin Malouf will walk 240 km to raise funds for muscular dystrophy patients in Canberra and NSW.
Physiotherapist Gavin Malouf, 62, is walking 240 kilometers from Twofold Bay to Mount Kosciuszko over eight days starting October 6, 2025, to raise funds for Capital Region Muscular Dystrophy.
Inspired by a friend with muscular dystrophy and his own experience treating patients, Malouf aims to support individuals with neuromuscular conditions in Canberra and South East NSW.
He will walk 30 kilometers daily, carrying a 14-kilogram backpack and camping three nights along the route.
Having trained for four months, he draws on his prior experience completing the Kokoda trek.
Public figures including Sam Williams and Andy Friend are supporting the fundraiser, with all donations going directly to the cause.
