Pakistani airstrike in Tirah Valley killed 25–30 civilians, including women and children, using Chinese-made precision bombs.
A Pakistan Air Force airstrike in Matre Dara village, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Tirah Valley, killed at least 25 to 30 civilians, including women and children, around 2 a.m.
The attack involved JF-17 jets dropping LS-6 glide bombs, Chinese-made precision-guided munitions also known as Thunder Stone bombs.
Developed by China’s Luoyang Electro-Optics Technology Development Centre, the LS-6 upgrades conventional bombs with folding wings and guidance systems, enabling long-range, accurate strikes—up to 60 kilometers when dropped from high altitude.
The bombs use inertial navigation with GPS, laser, or electro-optical guidance, including China’s BeiDou satellite network.
Despite their precision, the civilian toll has raised international concern over the use of such weapons in populated areas, especially given claims the target was Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan militants.
Rescue efforts continue, and the death toll may rise.
