Malaysia cuts RON95 fuel price to RM1.99/liter for citizens starting Sept. 30, with limits and exemptions.
Starting September 30, 2025, Malaysian citizens with valid driver’s licenses will pay RM1.99 per liter for RON95 fuel, down from RM2.05, under a universal subsidy program.
The monthly limit is 300 liters per person, with ride-hailing drivers exempt from the cap.
Non-citizens and foreign-registered vehicles will pay RM2.60 per liter.
The program, accessible via MyKad, e-wallets, or apps, aims to simplify access, reduce fraud, and redirect savings toward social welfare and infrastructure.
Over 16 million Malaysians are expected to benefit, with implementation beginning for police and military on September 27 and B40 recipients on September 28.
