Katrina Davis, a Tenterfield careers advisor, fractured her neck in a bike crash on August 29, 2025, but is recovering without surgery thanks to no spinal damage.
Katrina Davis, a careers advisor and former oztag coordinator, is recovering from a serious bike crash on August 29, 2025, that fractured her C7-T1 vertebra while riding her e-bike on Peel Street in Tenterfield.
She collided with a car while heading to meet her husband, recalling the impact and pain but no loss of consciousness.
The clean break caused no spinal cord damage, so surgery was unnecessary, and she now wears a Miami JTO brace for six weeks to immobilize her neck and chest.
Though she cannot drive or do household tasks, she remains grateful and calm, drawing strength from her family’s resilience, especially her son Jack, a professional BMX racer with a history of severe injuries.
Jack, currently competing in the US Pro Series and recently achieving strong results, has been supportive.
Davis hopes to return to biking next year after rehabilitation.
