A Kalamazoo man was arrested after a chase, crash, and K-9 apprehension in Indiana and Michigan City on Sept. 21, 2025.
A 34-year-old Kalamazoo man, Jacob Cooper, was arrested after a police chase that began in LaPorte County, Indiana, on September 21, 2025, following a failed traffic stop for speeding.
The suspect fled, crashed his vehicle into a fence at the LaPorte County Highway Department, then escaped on foot into Michigan City.
A police K-9 unit apprehended him by biting his back.
Cooper was hospitalized for evaluation and later booked into the LaPorte County Jail on multiple charges, including resisting law enforcement, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident, and being a wanted person in Noble County.
No injuries were reported during the pursuit.
