Irish wholesale prices flat in August 2025, with energy down, food up, and chemicals surging.
Irish wholesale prices were unchanged in August 2025 compared to July, with a 3.0% year-on-year decline. Electricity and energy product prices fell, with electricity dropping 3.3% monthly and 4.0% annually. Food producer prices rose 4.4% yearly, led by dairy (11.1%), meat (7.3%), and fish (3.5%), while vegetable and animal oils and fats fell 16.2%. Beverage prices declined 3.5% annually. Chemicals & chemical products surged 30.8% year-on-year. Domestic manufacturing prices rose 1.2% annually, and construction materials were stable monthly but up 0.6% yearly. The Building & Construction Index rose 1.5% monthly and 1.8% annually. Exported goods prices were down 3.4% from a year earlier.
