India's defence minister visits Morocco, signing a defence pact and highlighting India’s global rise, economic growth, and women's empowerment.

Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, on his first official visit to Morocco, said India now commands global attention when speaking on international platforms, a shift from past years. Speaking to the Indian diaspora in Rabat, he highlighted India’s economic growth, its rise as a startup hub with 160,000 startups and 118 unicorns since 2014, and new laws advancing women’s empowerment through 33% legislative reservation. Singh is set to meet Morocco’s defence minister and sign a defence cooperation agreement, strengthening bilateral ties. His visit, beginning at Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport, was warmly received by the Indian community and officials.
