Home Bargains opens automated UK distribution centre, boosting store supply and growth.
Home Bargains has launched a fully automated distribution centre in St Helens, Merseyside, now supplying 200 UK stores and processing over 25,000 pallets weekly.
The facility handles nearly two million cases and more than 1,000 store deliveries each week, with over 60% of cases picked via automation.
It’s a key part of the retailer’s growth strategy, with operations pausing before the holiday peak and resuming in January 2026 to serve 312 stores.
A second distribution hub is under construction in Doncaster, set to open in summer 2028 and support over 300 additional stores.
The company reported strong financial results for the year ending June 2024, with turnover rising 11.7% to £4.21bn and profits increasing significantly.
