HBTU, with IIT alumni and ACME Group, launches a 30-acre research center near Jewar Airport to boost India’s clean energy tech, targeting top 50 engineering status by 2030.
Harcourt Butler Technical University has partnered with the IIT Alumni Council to establish a 30-acre Novel Materials Research Centre near Jewar Airport, modeled after Germany’s Fraunhofer Institute, to advance India’s research in solar cells, batteries, inverters, and catalysts, including non-silicon and non-lithium technologies.
The center will involve over 500 fellows, 250 industry partners, and nearly 100 academic institutions.
HBTU also signed an agreement with ACME Group to support industry-integrated research, PhD programs, and skilling initiatives.
The university’s five-year plan aims to rank among India’s top 50 engineering institutions by expanding research, upgrading labs, and launching a distance campus, with support from the IIT Alumni Council and philanthropists.
