An Oklahoma family celebrating a birthday at Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas found a 2.79-carat brown diamond on September 13.
While searching near the Prospector Trailhead with basic tools, Raynae Madison spotted a shiny stone that was confirmed as a diamond at the park’s Discovery Center.
Named the William Diamond in honor of the nephew, it is the third-largest recorded at the site in 2025 and one of four over two carats found this year.
The park allows visitors to keep any diamonds they discover, drawing ongoing interest from hopeful prospectors.
