Clifford Church, 62, of Harrogate, was arrested in Bradford on September 19, 2025, and appeared at York Magistrates’ Court on September 22, 2025, on charges of rape, assault, and false imprisonment. He was wanted in connection with a rape allegation reported on August 7 involving a female victim and for breaching probation. North Yorkshire Police, working with West Yorkshire Police, conducted a manhunt following appeals in August and September. Church was remanded in custody, and the case has been sent to York Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on October 27. The investigation remains ongoing.
